Dining and Design: Vibia Brightens Residential Spaces

Now more than ever, a home’s dining area serves as a place of comfort and connection. Furnishings and proper lighting can set the right tone and create a space that’s equal parts soothing and stylish. These luminaires do just that with inspiring designs that instantly elevate an interior.

Vibia The Edit - Dining and Design - North

Architect firm Azovsky + Pahomova redesigned Deep Grey, a minimalist family home in Krivyi Rih, Ukraine, with a sleek, modern sensibility. To illuminate the open kitchen and dining area, they opted for a pair of North pendant lamps by Arik Levy.

The lights feature a unique disconnected design with a large triangular shade hanging from a nearly invisible cable and a carbon fiber rod attached to the wall. Here, the long stems cross each other overhead to form a dramatic X in the air.

One shade is suspended directly over the dining table while the other brightens the kitchen counter, its form linking the two spaces as it hangs in elegant equipoise. The black hue seamlessly mixes in with the home’s prevailing shades of grey.

Vibia The Edit - Dining and Design - Wireflow

In Valencia, Spain, Architect Arturo Sanz renovated Casa Mira, a traditional home he updated with contemporary furnishings and lighting. In the light-filled dining area Sanz deployed Arik Levy’s Wireflow Freefrom. The fixture’s lean black wires capped with LED terminals line the ceiling and are suspended like drops defining the table below.

Its minimalist, modern form creates a pleasing juxtaposition with the room’s original brick floor and stone arches, while offering a graphic punch against the pale palette.

Vibia The Edit - Dining and Design - Match

Designed by DWA Concept, a loft apartment in Krakow, Poland, features a compelling mix of brick, concrete, and wood. The industrial-modern residence maximizes space with an open-layout living area that flows seamlessly into the combined kitchen and dining corner.

Here, the architects chose the Match pendant by Jordi Vilardell & Meritxell Vidal to brighten the table, its black rods nodding to the color of the rich leather chairs and bar stools. The customised composition creates a clear focal point with its jagged silhouette and a dynamic feel that evokes a dramatic spider web.
