Suite, a multifunctional wall sconce

Constructed to function as both a usable shelf and a dual LED light source, SUITE is a wall sconce where functionality is multiplied. Designed by Jordi Vilardell and Meritxell Vidal, it establishes a new relationship between lighting and home functionality.

SUITE represents an evolutionary step forward in what the designers term a ‘soft’ approach to night time lighting that is more discreet, warm and inviting. Through a concealed LED light source, a downwards indirect glow bathes the wall. A reading lamp, as whimsical as it functional, rotates 360º on its round base while its aluminum shade tilts up to 40º, enabling the user to angle the light in any direction. Among its many applications, the wall shelf with built-in reading light is ideal for the use in bedrooms as bedside nightstands.

The collection was only made possible because of the opportunities offered by LED technology. The design inspiration started from looking how light is used within the home; particularly in the bedroom and living room. Spaces generally occupied with side tables, shelves or night stands that serve as support for decor, multimedia devices or old-fashioned books, were the inspiration for SUITE. The collection is available in different finishes including chocolate brown or white with a mink reading light.
