Ichiro Iwasaki wins the 2022 Mainichi Design Award

Prestigious Japanese newspaper Mainichi Shimbun acknowledges renowned product designer Ichiro Iwasaki for the 2022 Mainichi Design Award. Originally founded in 1952 as a key catalyst for the promotion of Japanese industrial design, the prize celebrates outstanding achievements across all fields of design, becoming an acclaimed international and cultural award over the years.

Born in Tokyo in 1965, Ichiro Iwasaki started his career at Sony Design Center, and later moved to Milan to join several design studios. Thirty years later, he founded his eponymous design studio. Ever since, he has been creating products ranging from household goods and electronics to furniture and lighting for international clients, always loyal to his minimalist and abstract style.
