Designed by Ichiro Iwasaki, Closer provides a warm immersive lighting that compliments different moments throughout the day, actively interacting with outdoor terraces, living rooms, gardens and bedrooms thanks to its refined silhouette and semi-transparent volumes, as well as the other options made possible by the different models and finishes within an endless number of applications for homes, hotels, restaurants, etc.

Closer is clothed in a hand-woven mesh that adds a highly visual and tactile quality, even when turned off. The objective is to convert the volume of the lamp itself into the source of illumination (including the light coming from within), without affecting the shape, simply projecting a halo of light capable of transforming its surroundings thanks to the diffuse and warm lighting effect.

The lighting professional has three different designer silhouettes at their disposal, each adopting slightly different proportions, either wider or more elongated, that adapt to the individual projects in hand, whether that be residential or a commercial establishment.

The collection features a pendant version and a portable floor lamp in various pastel finishes from the Vibia colour palette, such as terracotta, beige, and green. Each colour choice adds subtle nuances to the lighting of the space thanks to the woven mesh, which enhances the fitting’s handcrafted character, with a black perimeter trim detail designed to reinforce the perception of the volume.

The versatility of the Closer collection allows for playful combinations of volumes, colours and heights offering diverse options for crafting mood lighting within real life settings, like encouraging conversation in a living room, or chilling out on a terrace. And one of the great advantages is that the same light fitting can be enjoyed both indoors and outdoors while providing an aesthetic continuity without sacrificing lighting quality.

Closer, in its pendant version, is the perfect choice for hanging over the dining table or even the kitchen island, as well as for exterior porches and terraces, to illuminate the dining experience. It acts as a decorative focal point, warm and practical in use, with a sophisticated air. And in bedrooms it’s the ideal alternative to the traditional tabletop lamps for the bedside. A perfectly calibrated application in contract projects, both for hotel bedroom suites or in restaurants, as well as for tabletops, lounge areas, bars and rooftops, anywhere where the client experience can be heightened.

That hanging version can be installed via a cable, allowing for the height to be adjusted as required, or a fixed metal rod available in two lengths, which adds a greater stability especially for sloped ceilings or outdoor areas exposed to the wind; in both cases the aluminium ceiling rose is subtly integrated with the ceiling plane.

It’s also available in tabletop and floor lamp versions, with a dimmable light switch that adapts to different times of the day: reading, conversation, resting … an option that is also available for the pendant version. The floor lamp model also provides complete freedom of movement wherever light is needed. Thanks to its lightweight and portable design Closer is the ideal companion for different situations and settings, indoors and outdoors.

These highly versatile versions of Closer make it suitable for lighting hotel lobbies, playfully combining different configurations and sizes to reinforce the identity of individual spaces. It also helps achieve an ambience of relaxed welcome in the reception areas of spas and wellness centres. Including circulation spaces, corridors, entrance areas and stairwells, where it can work as a sculptural lighting element, not forgetting gardens and chillout zones.

All the components of Closer are designed to withstand outdoor weather conditions, meeting IP65 protection standards for both durability and UVA radiation protection. This ensures that the visual comfort achieved for indoor spaces remains unaffected by outdoor use over the lifespan of the collection.
