How to compose with Knit?

Knit invites touch, its textured fabric surface evoking an instinctive response. Designed for Vibia by Meike Harde, the collection consists of a series of generous curvaceous volumes that both embrace and diffuse light, creating a warm, intimate ambience that is felt as much as it is seen.

Composing Pendants opens up new creative possibilities, inviting professionals to design custom compositions with unlimited freedom. Within this framework, Knit forms majestic textile landscapes that respond intuitively to architectural and spatial needs. Whether standing alone or layered throughout a space, the collection brings softness, elegance, and comfort to any environment.

Vibia The Edit - Knit redefines light

Knit’s simple, almost elemental silhouette is serene and restrained, conveying a sense of balance and calm. A contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional lampshade, its distinctive geometry is enhanced by meticulous craftsmanship, with seamless transitions between fabric, diffuser and aluminium ring.

The collection enriches spaces with a soft, nuanced atmosphere thanks to the distinctive texture of its fabric sleeve. Each volume is covered in stretchy Lycra, knitted into three-dimensional forms. Playing with transparency and opacity, raised ribs gradually taper towards the top of the piece, with light gently filtering through the fabric between to cast a diffuse, 360-degree glow.

Composing Pendants frees Knit from the constraints of conventional lighting. The system guarantees simple installation, easy maintenance and seamless connectivity, no matter how unique the architecture. Independent luminaires move freely to create focal points or shape scenes as required, and several pieces can connect to the same power source, enabling technically and visually coherent compositions.

Knit complements natural materials such as wood, stone and linen, and pairs especially well with large sofa arrangements, soft carpets and heavy drapes. The collection offers the perfect solution for designers looking to create a cosy atmosphere in residential settings, such as living rooms or dining areas, as well as hospitality projects, such as restaurants or hotel lounge areas.

A single pendant suspended low over a sleek dining table casts a muted, intimate glow, while another brings an inviting, familiar warmth to an open plan kitchen. A pair of generous volumes enriches a comfortable commercial lounge with their sensuous form and refined illumination, while a standalone piece turns an understated corner into a cosy reading nook. Dense, tactile, and expressive, Knit transforms light into a sensory experience.
