Hanging

Vibia has developed a large portfolio of hanging lamps where lighting and design come together to create spaces that inspire creativity and originality. This series of hanging lamps are in realty sculptures of light and shade, whose designs are capable of generating both pleasant and practical environments. Vibia’s hanging lamps adapt to any space, whether it be residential (dining room lamps, for the kitchen…) or more public spaces (restaurant lighting, for reception areas, libraries…). Most of the collections use a LED light source.

Meike Harde
Designer Meike Harde founded her own studio in Cologne in 2013, after having won numerous talent competitions and receiving multiple nominations and awards. Her first collaboration with Vibia is the Knit collection, the result of intense research into the behaviour of knitwear and the possibility of creating translucent effects when knitting. Umut Yamac
Umut Yamac is a London based Architect and Designer whose work is characterized by a multidisciplinary approach; exploring the middle ground between architecture and light.

After studying Architecture, he established his design studio in 2011 to focus on the human scale; objects and installations responsive to both user and space through playful interaction and movement. The studio output ranges from collaborations with international lighting and furniture brands to bespoke installations and gallery pieces. Yamac has created Array in collaboration with Vibia, a collection of pendant lamps where concepts of form, texture and light intersect in a range of three-dimensional models that glow from above.

Often taking inspiration from nature, conceptual ideas are tested through a hands-on process of making where the workshop plays a central role in the development and realization of each project.
